Joint Efforts Deliver ‘Plug and Play’ Multichannel Analytics Solution
San Mateo, Calif., – May 8, 2007 – Coremetrics, the leading provider of on-demand web analytics and precision marketing solutions, today announced that it is working with IBM to help retailers deliver on the promise of Web 2.0 and multichannel analytics.
IBM has just launched its WebSphere Commerce Web 2.0 Store solution, an ecommerce platform based on Web 2.0 technology, which delivers a more streamlined user experience. Coremetrics and IBM have collaborated to provide embedded analysis and measurement capabilities, with in-depth, customizable tagging for reporting purposes. This enables retailers to track the effectiveness of the Web 2.0 Store, helping them understand not only the impact of page views, but also more granular “intra-page activity”, evaluating such items as AJAX pop-ups.
For example, in an online retail environment, the technology in the IBM Web 2.0 Store enables online customers to add a purchase to their cart, then carry on browsing the site and check out other product recommendations via AJAX pop-ups, without losing their place in the checkout process. This interim browsing activity can now be measured by joint Coremetrics/IBM WebSphere Commerce customers, as part of the overall campaign analysis.
“We’re currently redesigning our site using IBM’s Web 2.0 Store functionality to provide a more streamlined shopping experience, so the ability to easily and effectively track and measure the impact of this new technology is key,” said Devon Montoya, webmaster at philosophy, Inc. “The customer experience is paramount for us, and the IBM/Coremetrics partnership has made it easy for us to deploy an integrated Web and call center solution, with much of the tracking functionality already built in.”
“IBM’s ongoing strategy is to provide a seamless, unified experience for our customers across all channels, and the Web 2.0 Store is another key milestone for us,” said Jim Caldwell, director of application infrastructure product management at IBM WebSphere. “Our aim is to take new technology and make it highly relevant for our clients, and our relationship with Coremetrics definitely helps us meet that objective.”
Coremetrics and IBM have also announced a ‘plug and play’ solution for multichannel analytics, based on Coremetrics’ existing deep integration with the IBM WebSphere Commerce platform. The solution includes a set of reports, analytics, and adapters that provide a streamlined, measurement platform for the performance of sales, products, promotions and B2B contracts across the Web and the call center.
“As retailers become more sophisticated in their multichannel strategy, it’s crucial to provide them with a holistic view of performance, so they can continually refine and maximize results,” said John Squire, senior vice president, product strategy, and general manager, search services at Coremetrics. “Web 2.0 developments make this a more challenging task, so we’re pleased to offer an intuitive tracking and analysis solution for the IBM WebSphere Commerce Web 2.0 Store. In the case of multichannel analytics, companies with this vision have previously had to cobble together a custom solution, so this will provide an easy to deploy solution for rapid results.”
The Coremetrics Analytics for WebSphere Commerce Sales Center takes advantage of service-oriented architecture; a business strategy that help companies reuse its existing technology to more closely align with business goals, by allowing WebSphere Commerce to efficiently exchange data.
The enhancements also include a tightly integrated, closed-loop email marketing solution that allows marketers to create an email in WebSphere Commerce and automatically add tracking codes for Coremetrics, as well as create visitor segments in Coremetrics and simply export to WebSphere Commerce for more targeted emails.
Coremetrics and IBM provide clients with access to actionable data in convenient, easy-to-access reports, for both the Web and call center. Numerous clients are planning to benefit from this solution, including Blair Corporation, Boxfresh, Kickers UK, Philosophy Cosmetics inc., Sigma-Aldrich, and Staples.
