Coremetrics Analysis Shows Conversion Increase of 110% Over Previous Mass Emailings

The combined solution enables Baseball Express to create highly targeted email campaigns that are delivering conversion rates up to 110 percent higher than broadcast mailings and boosting AOV by more than 11 percent.

  • The first mailing represented only 3.2 percent of total messages sent during a two-month period yet accounted for 6.5 percent of total same session email revenue during that same period. The conversion rate was 110.5 percent higher than that achieved from previous broadcast emailing.
  • The second campaign used Coremetrics to test days of the week for optimum email performance. Emails were sent Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with conversions of .87%, 1.69% and 1.22%, respectively. The results were clear; all emails are now sent on Wednesday.
  • The third campaign, which focused on best customers, delivered even more dramatic gains. A "free offer" campaign accounted for 6.5 percent of total revenue for email sent between April 1 and December 31, 2005 (same session only), while representing only 1.6 percent of total email sent. The 8.10 percent conversion rate is higher than the average conversion rate for all email since switching to the combined Coremetrics/Responsys solution. Moreover, the AOV was 11.6 percent higher.
