SAN FRANCISCO – December 18, 2001 – Coremetrics,
a leading web services provider of marketing analytics solutions,
today announced it has enlisted EMC Corporation to host the
company's reliable, highly scaleable, and secure marketing
analysis services. Under the terms of the agreement, Coremetrics
will host its award-winning data capture, storage, and decision-support
systems at EMC's Internet Solutions Center in Hopkinton, MA,
and gain exposure to the over 1,500 corporations that tour
the facilities each year.
This decision by Coremetrics places it among the ranks of
over 50 companies that have turned to EMC's Internet Solutions
Group (ISG) to outsource mission critical e-business solutions.
EMC's ISG is a hosting facility that showcases best practices
in e-commerce, mission critical application outsourcing, business
continuance, and web hosting. ISG's infrastructure design
enables a completely modular approach to services expansion,
which will allow Coremetrics to add extra processing or storage
capacity in hours rather than weeks. This migration will enable
Coremetrics to continue supporting its rapidly expanding client
base at peak efficiency, while adapting quickly to constantly
changing business climates and easily managing Internet-driven
growth.
"Over a year ago, EMC certified Coremetrics as an EMC
Proven E-Infostructure provider as part of our selective
industry program that identifies Internet-based businesses
investing in best practices for enterprise storage and information
infrastructure," said Chuck Loewy, vice president and
general manager for EMC's ISG. "Through our relationship,
Coremetrics is providing a highly secure and reliable solution
for the storage and analysis of Web visitor intelligence."
"With EMC, Coremetrics has ensured that the data our
clients entrust to us for collection and safekeeping is warehoused
at the world's most advanced, secure hosting facility by none
other than the world leader in information storage,"
said Scott Kauffman, president and CEO of Coremetrics. "EMC
will continue to help Coremetrics meet key technical challenges,
including scalability, security, and performance and capacity
planning, enabling Coremetrics to continually innovate and
lead the market for marketing analytics solutions."
High availability and scaleable storage technology is the
foundation of the Coremetrics infrastructure and EMC's ISG
will enable Coremetrics to access additional pools of Storage
Area Network (SAN) storage on-the-fly. All Coremetrics customers
are assured that their data will not only be captured in real-time,
but also be accessible from the world's most reliable data
storage platforms. EMC will provide Coremetrics with a 250
terabyte EMC E-Infostructure featuring near-limitless data
expansion and scalability, and room to scale the proprietary
Coremetrics data collection engine at a rapid pace as existing
customers grow and new customers come online. EMC's ISG is
served by multiple OC-48 rings that are carried by three Tier
1 providers. In the event of a failure of one of the backbones,
an alternate carrier is always available.
Security is of paramount importance at EMC's ISG, as the center
employs the latest state of the art firewall, virtual Local
Area Networks (LAN), and intrusion-detection systems that
protect client data around the clock. The EMC ISG Operations
Center is one of the most advanced in the country, and will
provide Coremetrics with 24x7 supervision of mission critical
infrastructure by personnel who are skilled in system and
network administration. Coremetrics will continue to offer
clients an industry-leading infrastructure that includes EMC
Symmetrix Enterprise Storage Systems, Oracle 8i relational
databases, Cisco routers, and Sun Enterprise Servers.
