Coremetrics™ Announces Boards of Directors and Advisors

Renowned Internet Pioneers and Venture Capital Partners Lend Unrivaled Industry Experience and Insight to Next-Generation eMarketing ASP

San Francisco, Calif., – March 22, 2000 – Coremetrics™, Inc., a next-generation eMarketing application service provider (ASP), today announced appointments to its newly formed Boards of Directors and Advisors. Earlier in the week, the company announced the close of a $15 million second round of funding by Highland Capital Partners and Accel Partners.

Coremetrics' Board of Directors will include the company's co-founders: Brett Hurt, President and CEO; and Andrew Trader, Vice President, Business Development. Also appointed to Coremetrics' Board of Directors (Alphabetically):

  • Keith Benjamin, Partner, Highland Capital Partners—Benjamin is a former Senior Internet Analyst with Robertson Stephens. While there, he launched Internetstocks.com, a leading online Internet investment research site. Benjamin also helped take public and/or has followed such leading Net companies as Amazon, Ask Jeeves, CNET, eBay, Priceline, StarMedia, Yahoo!, and others.
  • Arthur Patterson, Founder and General Partner, Accel Partners—Patterson is a Silicon Valley VC authority who has been the lead investor/director in several market leaders' IPOs, including Broadbase, Interwoven, Portal Software, and UUNET/MCI-WorldCom. He has served as President of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists and as a Director of the National Venture Capitalist Association.
  • Bong Suh, Founder and Former CEO, BuyDirect.com—Suh served as BuyDirect's CEO until its acquisition by Beyond.com in 1999 when he became the company's Vice President of Corporate Development. Prior to BuyDirect, Suh was Senior Vice President, Corporate Development for CNET and a mergers and acquisitions investment banker with Robertson Stephens & Co.
Appointed to Coremetrics' Board of Advisors (Alphabetically):

  • David Farber, Online Privacy Expert—Farber is a professor of computer science at the University of Pennsylvania, currently on assignment as chief scientist with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). He is also a Board of Directors member for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and one of the most widely cited sources on Internet privacy issues in the media and academia.
  • Guy Kawasaki, Founder and CEO, Garage.com—Kawasaki is the former chief evangelist of Apple Computer. He is a columnist for Forbes Magazine and author of seven books including Rules for Revolutionaries and How to Drive Your Competition Crazy.
  • Peter Mellen, CEO and co-founder of Headlight.com—Mellen is an award-winning Web producer and has consulted on technology and Internet issues for National Geographic Television, Georgetown University, and the Washington Historical Society.
  • Rich Petersen, Vice President and eMarketing Analyst, CS First Boston—Petersen covers Internet companies that provide marketing, advertising and related services for CSFB's Technology Group. He has held executive positions with Volpe Brown Whelan & Co. and DoubleClick, Inc.
  • Mark Pincus, Chairman and Founder, Support.com—Pincus is the former CEO and co-founder of FreeLoader, the first Web-based push technology service. He has held executive positions with Columbia Capital, Telecommunications, Inc., and Lazard Freres & Co.
